Why wearable devices and other small systems lithium-ion battery power?

Iot will improve almost every aspect of modern life. By collecting and analyzing large amounts of data, the Internet of things can help us with our health, a reduction in household and workplace monitoring of energy consumption, and improve our environment, and so on.
A wide range of potential applications of the Internet of things, but they also share a number of important features. Equipment used to collect the data needed small volume, easy to use and is almost ready for use. These requirements may be most evident on wearable devices, millions of people around the world are already using wearable devices to keep track of activities, monitoring indicators and to improve the health of the body.
In order to gather the necessary data consumer wearable devices must be worn on the body. Therefore, they must be tiny but comfortable, and able to work long hours. Smart Home sensor nodes and other Internet applications is also facing similar demands.
This creates the problem of how to supply power to these devices. Ideal situation is, they can get energy directly from the environment so that they can keep. Although we have reduced power consumption and improve energy has made a lot of progress, but realized there was a gap. In the foreseeable future, we also need to rely on batteries as the primary power source. In particular, in order to minimize energy waste caused by billions of devices, some time in the future, and rechargeable batteries should be the first choice power.
