Some call it genius, others a waste of time, but one daring hacker has managed to get legendary shooter Half Life playing on an Android Wear smartwatch.
Over the last few months we've seen some serious hacking done on smartwatches, with Doom, Windows 95 and Flappy Bird all made to run on Google-powered devices, but this one really takes the cake.
The hack was done by Dave Bennett – a man with arguably too much time and an insatiable desire to make things run on systems they weren't designed for. Just check out his YouTube channel – 100,000 subscribers can't be wrong.
And as you can see from the resulting video, not only did he get Gordon Freeman's apocalyptic nightmare to load, he also managed to get it to play. While controlling the game was near impossible on a 1-inch screen, he did manage to rack up an impressive 60fps at some points, although that did plummet to 2fps when things got real in Black Mesa.
Dave Bennett – we salute you.
